Passat TDI side airbag sensor location?

My 2005 TDI wagon is complaining about the passenger side airbag sensor, intermittent open or short to positive. This sounds like a bad connector or harness issue. Where is this sensor located? I read one post saying it was in the door, but given how much of a pain it is to take the door apart I'd like some confirmation.

If it's like the Jetta / Golf, it's on a bracket under the seat, under the carpet.

You need to identify which sensor it is by VAG's parts identifier code, like "G134" or something. VCDS will give this information with the DTC. Then we can tell you better exactly which part you are going after. Because there is often confusion regarding SRS components, as "side airbag" and "side curtain airbag" are two different things.

The location of the sensor is on the inside of the rocker panel unibody under the carpet. Its not waterproof as I remember.
