Hard to zero in on this one. 2004 Jetta Tdi- starts normal, works well when shifting into reverse or forward. Can put it into gear and drive with no issues. However, at first stop, if still not totally warmed up it will start to hard shift. Restart it and problem is gone.
Solenoids changed, transmission sensor replaced, replaced TCM, but still an issue. Read on another thread to clean the grounds under the battery- found two. Next time I have it on a lift I will clean the grounds mentioned on the transmission on the engine side- I didn't see those looking from the top.
Any suggestions as car runs great when totally warm- no issues. Just the hard shifts after your first stop and acceleration.
