Windshield polishing?

My windshield has some light scratches, basically two arcs near the top of the wiper travel. The scratches are not deep. I thought I address this before it gets worse. My blades are new.

Can this be polished out by hand with some polishing compound?

You may be able to get the surface scratches out with some fine glass polish. I'd recommend Griot's Garage Fine Glass Polish.

A long time ago, when I thought I could fly, I used normal turtle wax rubbing compound, then polishing compound, then wax... but then again, that 172 is history now...

One recommendation, don't put any kind of wax on the windshield, it'll make the wipers chatter like crazy in the rain.

Is it available only online or can I get it at a "mart" or store?
