DSG with Active Gear Display

While my 09 Jetta TDI is getting repaired at the dealer, they gave me an 07 EOS loaner to drive. It's an automatic with a 6 speed DSG. I noticed that while the transmission is in "D", though, there is an extra digit to the right of PRNDS on the MFD that shows the current gear. I really like this feature and was wondering if there is any way (possibly through VAG-COM) to enable this in my 09 once I get it back. I've done some reading and searching on this in other forums and it looks like this went away sometime in 2007, but I'm hoping it can be re-enabled with the right know how.

Just put your gear selector over to the right and it will show you what gear you are in.

What the OP is talking about is that the Eos shows the actual gear the transmission is using while in Drive or sport mode, in addition to manual mode. I doubt that VAG-COM can activate the feature.

On later Eoses or ones that were re-flashed, the feature disappeared.
