have a 01 golf in today with siezed glow plugs. One of the plugs broke on removal leaving the threaded portion of the plug stuck in the head.
1. drill out plug to just beyond the depth of the threads in the plug, 23/64 drill
2. this leaves the reduced diameter portion of the glow plug still in head, If at this point you can not remove it with a magnet, stand back and start engine. Compression will blow out plug, at least it did for me.
3 noisey but it worked like a charm , just cleaned up remaning threads in head and car is good to go
