Hi. This is my first post. Have been studying up here for awhile. Question. I am interested in buying a vagcom for my 2002 NB TDI. Can anyone direct me to a good source and also let me know if the vagcom package that I am buying will be complete (ie, software, cables...) for my car, or if I will need to buy anything additional. Thanks in advance for any help here. Looking forward to messing around with my new TDI.

Welcome. I trust you'll enjoy it here, as well as enjoy your TDI.

Check out Ross-Tech. You'll find all you need to know about Vag-Com. You buy the cable, download the shareware version of the software, and when you know it connects ok to your car (no good reason why it wouldn't), you contact Ross-Tech to register the software and get the unlock code.

The plus to buying the whole setup from Uwe at ross-tech.com is he will help with any issues you have which in my case included repairing the cable. And oh, when I first got my VagCom I could not communicate with the car due to the configuration of my laptop: I didn't figure this out Uwe did.

Having said that, Greg's cables are just fine and they are cheaper.
