If you're interested in learning how to convert your TDI to run on waste vegetable oil, check out this upcoming weekend workshop at the Yestermorrow Design/Build School in Warren, VT!

Yestermorrow Biofuels Class

July 16-18, 2004
Have you ever dreamed of cutting your fossil fuel use by upwards of 50-95%? Would you like to find more sustainable options for transportation, electricity, and heating? Biofuels are the only feedstock for technologies that can support all of these objectives in an affordable manner. This workshop will provide students with the necessary experience and information to begin replacing fossil fuel with renewable fuel in a variety of applications. The heart of this intensive two-day course is the adaptation of 2-3 conventional diesel vehicles to operate on used vegetable oil. Students will perform all major modifications including electrical wiring, fuel tank installation, and coolant plumbing. Evening lecture and discussion will explore topics such as: home heating, electrical generation and transportation, biodiesel use and production, ethanol, methane, and locating/growing fuel sources. Case studies will be included for each topic. There will be the opportunity for up to two students to adapt their own vehicle during the workshop. Students interested in this should contact instructors at least 6 weeks prior to course starting date to arrange materials (at an additional cost). [Note: This course will begin at 6 PM on Friday].

Instructors: Ben Falk and Ken Oldrid
Tuition: $275
