Heater controls light?

I bougt my car used not to long ago, and I've notced the heater controls is offly dark. Is there a light in there that might have burnt out? I have the bently service manual, and I can't find any mention of it.

If you take a pair of plyers and gently pull off the fan control knob there is a tiny light bulb in side the portion of the switch that stays in the dash. The light is a couple of bucks at the dealer. You may need a pair of small needle nose plyers to pull the old bulb and insert the new one.

the bentley manual and the VW parts is wrong on the spec of the bulb imo-- since I drive with my gauges dimmed, the 1.2W bulb makes the HVAC controls difficult to see.

a 2.3W bulb looks more like the OEM bulb... iirc a 2723 bulb from sylvania is I believe the part number.
