Driver Side Window Slow at Top!

Hi all. So quick question. The last few days when I roll my driver side window up or down, it's super slow for only like the top 4", the rest is totally normal. Any insight to what might be causing this?? Is this maybe the motor or could it be there's something causing resistance at the top 4" or so?? Like bent track or gunk in the track etc...

Thanks in advance!

Maybe dry grease in the track

If the lube does not do the trick...

Try wiggling the window side to side to see if there is play in the mechanism.
It may be starting to skew and binding in the track.

I'm wondering if the rollers in the regulator are starting to go or the cable frayed in that spot.

Not sure I'll have to open it up. I'm going to try the dry grease. However I have a sneaking suspicion it is in fact something more serious

Search for the procedure to do this here.
It can be tricky with a few steps.
I found out the hard way the 1st time.

Broke one of the tabs that pop rivet on to support the back of the motor.
Bit of trouble getting the lock out & in.
Putting it back together had trouble with 2 plastic roll pins going through the big panel.
Nothing I didn't over come but it was a bit of a hassle. :(

Did you install a whole regulator assembly??

On a side note the window gets weirder. A few times now i've cracked it 2" or so, then go to roll back up and it goes up for a millisecond then the window rolls completely down even no matter what i do with the switch!!

That is an emergency sequence that will keep your dog from getting his head chopped off.
In other words, it senses that it is too hard for it to raise the window.

I did replace the locking unit not the regulator you may need.
I could not find a sealed micro switch at the time and decided it was to much of a hassle getting it apart again if the switch went bad again.
The factory switch has a rubber boot over it.

My back windows have done that since the car was new.
When I took it back to the dealer just before the warranty ran out they indicated they could not reproduce the issue, working as designed.

I had a few things on the list, they only replaced my rear window washer nozzle.
