TDIparts has the bolts and nuts you need.

the bolt & nuts that go on the vertical back hockey puck bushings are $4 per side..

the long bolts that go on the front horizontal bushing are $1.45 per side

if $12 for the whole setup is very expensive.. perhaps you should take up bike riding...

Don't forget the 3 bolts that hold the ball joint onto the control arm... some people remove those as well... (others leave them in place, remove the nut that secures the driveshaft - also a must-replace item, push out the outer CV joint a bit, and remove the top nut from the ball joint...)

It's an engineering/metalurgy thing.

The bolts have stretched.

Replace them as instructed.

Tighten with torque wrench to specification.

These steps will assure your safety.

getting them online is cheap. Going to the dealer is not. I live in canada...shipping is outrageous. I guess I'll go to the dealer tomorrow.

Dealer was reasonable. On another note, i have re-used all these bolts before, control arm bolts, ball joint, etc. for quite a few times with no problems. I did replace them last time just for the heck of it.

and how much and where did you get the bolts?

I do realize that I don't want my LCA to fall off. Last time i worked on my honda, every little bolt was like 7$ at the dealer.

I could only imagine how much it would be at VW since a part that was 4$ 4 years ago is now 25$...

VW is nothing compare to BMW or MB. I bought a rear Shock bolt for my 740i for $26 each and thats wholesale price.
