Just did a "diesel purge" on my 97 tdi with 181,000 miles. Bought the purge kit from Diesel Giant and it came with two fuel filters; the standard large metal canister and a small plastic filter (~2" long by ~ 1" diameter) with one inlet and one outlet. Could somebody tell me where the small filter is located? The small filter is manufactured by Hengst, part # H103WK.

thanks,

The small filter is for use while you're running the purge.
You set it up to run off of a small container of diesel purge and the small filter is in line to catch any debris so it doesn't recirculate through pump or injectors.

Here is a how-to.

Also, as a side note, I see at that DieselGiant site that they sell the kit with two cans of diesel purge. I don't think you would need both for such a small engine/pump, at least not both at once.
