Update May 27th
It's been confirmed that Matt will not be able to attend our Dyno day this weekend. Matt has also cancelled his appearance at SpringFling for the same reason so it's not just because we drive diesels.

I've arranged for a mobile dent removal specialist to join us at the Diesel Doctors Dyno Day that OmegaRenegade has arranged (providing there is enough interest in his services).

PetaA4 and I both had dents pulled by Matt last weekend and were both impressed by his work.

The prices he has offered us are as follows:

- $60 1-4 dents
- $80 5-10 dents all within the the size of a 2oonie (roughly) and in relatively accessible areas...... * if the dent is on a rear 1/4 panel or roof, you will need to remove any interior that will be in the way....

The Dyno Day thread can be found here:
http://forums.tdiclub.com/showthread.php?t=245598

Matt prefers to work in 30 minute time slots so based on this, we should have spots for 10 cars. If you are interested, please reply to this thread with your preference of time. Actual time slots will be assigned once I have a better idea of numbers.

hmmmm how well would this work on the hood? mine was hit by falling ice. I don't think there are any creases.

Can you post a picture for me? He took out an 18 inch crease along the bottom of my door (before the door was eventually replaced) that was only noticeable up close.

This is great! I've got a couple. So if I understand correctly, if I have a dent in the door, I should remove the inner door trim so he has access to the outer skin? Also have one on my front fender so would I have to remove the inner fender lining? Thanks!

Yes

I'd be up for it as well, can I bring anything other than my TDI (it doesn't have dents-- yet) If this doesn't happen please pass Matt's contact information along.
Thanks
Terry

Doors are not a problem - he'll put a wedge in by the window and access it that way. Front fender would probably require the inner fender liner to be removed but that could be done while you are there.

His main concern is with the rear quarter panels on two door vehicles or on the roof with the headliner. There is no real easy way to access these areas so removing the necessary parts just helps him along quicker.

I don't think it would really matter, but please let me know the vehicle and I'll run it by him.

Matt has skills. He just pulled the dents out of my Golf and Volvo.

For these prices it's worth the drive to the dyno day. You won't get anything close to this if you contact him another day.

Come to the dyno, hangout with fellow TDI'rs, and get your dents fixed.

Pulled my rear tailight for a dent just above/behind the gas flap. Fixed 3 door dings, and gave some love to my bent rocker.

I've seen him do front fenders without removing the liner.

I'm sure he can fix it. I've seen hit fix a nasty one on a Golf 20th. Swing by the dyno.......

He fixed a couple small ones for me. I don't believe it will be an issue.

Matt has been doing the dent thing for about 8yrs. It's his job, not a hobby. I'm confident you'll be happy with his work. :D

sure... i make it black and white, so the contrasts of the dents will be easier to see.

there was some heavy hail this morning - i'm thinking this may be a dent removal day with a side of dyno fun.

i'm sure a lot more people will be chiming in after the downpoor that came this morning!

I have a dent in my rear fender on my 84 Porsche 911. The dog lived for another day. We just got back from BC so I'm a bit late responding.

Thanks
Terry

I'll know for certain by the end of the week but it looks like Matt will bail once again on us TDI folks. He sent me an IM on vortex saying the small hail storm that Toronto had a week back is keeping him busy with insurance work.
Again?? Seriously??

Yep. I speak the truth.

He still does great work but I WILL NOT try to arrange another with him as it really is not worth my time.

There's good money in this as well... Get a bunch of people together all in one spot? Less driving around/hassle/cost, etc. Also, everyone at the GTG is an opportunity for word of mouth referral.

It's been confirmed that Matt will not be able to attend this weekend. He's also had to cancel his appearance at SpringFling so he really is that busy with insurance work.

Let's see if I got this right: canceling a commitment to a "formal" event as well? Wow, seems like he's only interested in where to make the quickest buck.

I can believe it - there are al least 40 hail-damaged new Chevys (mostly white HHR panel vans) with their hoods off and headliners down at Don Howson across the street from me.

Is it possible to get Matt's contact information. I'd love to have him do some work on my cars.

Thanks
Terry
