Some advocate just waiting until you're ready to set an appointment. Presumably, the system won't kick you out.

However, if you schedule that June appointment, you'll be given the chance to cancel and reschedule. So if you're feeling uncertain, you can do that and keep "kicking the can" until you're ready to move forward.

what is the last day in 2018?

is it in Sept or Dec?

NM - I see - Its registered by Sept, turn in by dec 30 2018.

My 2015 needs tires. Has 50K on it now. I'll probably put a set of tires on it, and drive it till winter of 18

Hi,

I have been reading threw these forms for hours and hours. I have 2 TDI's in my family (2009 & 2015) and I want to wait to sell them back as long as possible. I was told

"Your offer letter has been accepted. The next step in the process is to schedule an appointment with a Settlement Specialist to turn in your vehicle"

The latest date I see available is in June 2017, do I just do nothing or so I have to write to someone I want to wait so I don't lose the ability to turn in the vehicles? Especially since I just got another email saying The EPA and CARB have approved an emissions modification for your vehicle.

I appreciate any insights.

Thanks!
I would call 1-844-98-CLAIM, no need to write someone.

You can wait but the offer will have to be updated based on the miles you will add to the car, they can reset your portal to start the process again from the beginning. Nothing is finalized until you drop your tdi and sign all the paperwork at the dealer.

You can still opt for the fix also and the email you got was sent to all members of the settlement that registered their cars online.

I am thinking (and I could be wrong- won't be the first time) that having an offer from vw for the buyback might become beneficial in case you total your car, might fetch you more $$$ from insurance company, but I am just guessing.

Kinda on topic so let me ask. I have an approved claim (for the Gen3 fix) and of course my next step is to schedule an appointment.
.
Does anyone know if this approved claim will expire say before 9/1/2018?
I know if I rack up a bunch of miles the restitution amount may change, but I've seen no documentation that I have to act within a certain period of time.
.
(Had an appointment scheduled but had to cancel as I was out of town. But still not inclined to have it done just yet.)
