Stock Head unit readin .mp3s on a DVD?

does anyone know if the stock head unit can read .mp3 burned to a DVD or CD? I keep getting "Disk error" with a DVD loaded full of music. when i had my MK5 i loaded tons of .mp3 to a blank DVD and loaded the disk changer full of them, had tons of music which was nice.

I don't know about the 2015's but before the facelift the rádios did not read DVD disks.
Don't you have a USB port? Perhaps that's a cheaper, less work option than DVDs
