I couldn't find a forum category for MK7 Jettas, so I'm posting it here.

I ordered a 2015 Jetta TDI from Chris and I'll be picking it up this week.
The exact model name is "2015 JETTA GP TDI SEL 2.0L AUTO"

We can't figure out what the letters "GP" stand for. Nobody at the VW dealership knows, so I wanted to ask you guys.

Has anyone ever heard of a "JETTA GP" model?

Taken from a comment I dug up on a random blog:

"At VW GP is short for Große Produktaufwertung (big product upgrade/improvement), which basically means facelift."

I also found this on wikipedia in regards to the B5 Passat:

"Der Zusatz „GP“ stand für „Große Produktaufwertung“, ein Eigenname von VW für Modellpflege, die in diesem Fall hauptsächlich auf äußerlichen Änderungen basierte."

Translation: "The suffix "GP" stand for "Great product improvement", a proper name of VW for facelift , mainly based in this case on external changes."

So, it would basically seem that GP just refers to the fact that the 2015 Jetta has a new body style/facelift.

Cheers!

It isn't mk7, just a mk6.5 refresh so it still belongs to the mk6 Jetta forum
Yep, sedan is only a face lift, hatchback and wagen are new from the rubber up.
