I have an RNS-510 with a problem. I think it is on the mother board, but I don't knoe.
The VCDS cannot "see" the NAV or any thing else on the unit.
I have another unit in the other car that works in this car and the RNS-510 does exactly the same thing in both cars.
I have cleaned and reseated the board and connectors in the RNS-510 and it has made no difference at all.
Does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone have a unit with other problems that needs the parts that may be good on mine?
Swap, trade, etc?
I sold this init on Ebay and a German bought it, but he did not pick it up when I shipped it to him so it sat for a few months before it made it's way back to me.
The money paid was given back to him by PayPal.
I will never sell anything outside the US again!
Any suggestions as to what to do with this unit.
It will work fine, but not turn on with the car, show up in the MDF. turns off after time out.
I am pretty sure the communications between the RNS and the car is the problem. Most likely the Canbus chip on the board, but I have no idea where or what it is.
