Aren't A pumps similar to P pumps and have some timing advance built in to the port timing on the plungers?
Really nice looking video Andy! And the power is starting to accumulate as you have found some revs out of it.
Our MB project got some bad vibes with saised rev limit (6800 -> 7500rpm) and we got almost nothing out of it this summer. We knew that those extra 800rpm would cause us difficulties, but as I was told that making best power over 7000rpm is impossible on diesel...
Here's a nice burnout with none of our ALS system engaged. Just after this it blew HG as original water pump can't tolarate these kind of revs.

Hopefully we get it on rollers before summer. Target is >750bhp and a high 9sec on 1/4mile with full interior and a tow bar. Still using original AT.
Are you guys making 700hp just with a gt4082klnv? I also have one but looks about compareable size as a he351ve..You are correct with the turbo size on our MB. We have no spooling issues with all our ALS systems engaged (around 1bar @2500rpm, around 4bar @3500rpm) and we need no NOS (or any other bottle gas for that matter) to burn all the fuel our pump can deliver.
A compoud system would be my choise for our engine, but as I'm not the one who pays the bills with this project...
Your compound system sounds really nice as 30psi without load is more than needed. What's the max boost and EMP with your setup?

Hmm. Why would you think we are using small gt4082klnv in our MB?Are you guys making 700hp just with a gt4082klnv? I also have one but looks about compareable size as a he351ve..
what oxidizer/air source are you using for the ALS in the merc? or you use H2O2?
I was thinking, as its a daily drivier and your're getting some impressive spool, it shouldn't be so much bigger.. and with normal ALS, creating the exh energy to drive the turbine is one thing, but making the compressor work anywhere near the map at such low airflow numbers must also requires a bypass of some sort.. one could use the air from the compressor and bypass it into the exh mani, like done in wrc, but that is only valid if boost>empHmm. Why would you think we are using small gt4082klnv in our MB?
This car is supposed to be the fastest diesel MB in the world and still be daily driver with a tow bar. We drive it to the races and just change tires to get it ready for track (well some minor tweaks to fueling/boost) as we don't want yet another trailerqueen. Current diesel MB record is 10,68s/201kmh(126mph) IRC, but with a race chassis unlike ours (our record is 11,4s/208kmh(130mph) with daily driver settings and we blew the engine because of overrev with race settings, but we were 0,6s ahead at halfway). I'm sorry but I really can't give much info (plus this isn't my solo project).
I think everybody would be surprised what we use as ALS. It's not anything commonly used or even known...
andy2 TDIsyncro those vids are sweet!
Fill me in whats ALS?
You guys are doin some cool ****!
X1000. I could watch videos like this all day.andy2 TDIsyncro those vids are sweet!

Spool valve won't work as my exh manifold and turbine housing are not divided.I know That I can get this setup to spool I just have to conrtol the vanes better.how about something simpler like a spool valve?
