hello all,
wondering if 25 psi is a safe number to be at with my car.
new headgasket, larger turbo, unsure of what size but it is garrett. it has part numbers on it but they look to be put on by a hand engraver, rc2g tune, 2.5 inch straight pipe turbo back

What turbo you have is vital information........
It is either a 22 or a 17/22. Numbers off the turbo go to a d&w performance page that shows a straight vnt 22 but the same numbers with an r at the end goes to another company called xdp that shows a vnt 17/22 so i dont really know where to look or what to think. I bought the car as is minus cosmetics.
I am more asking if the engine will be okay under 25 psi? The tune is requesting 17 psi and i habe literally gone through wverythingg to see why it is overboosting

It holds 25psi steady, or does it just spike to it and back down?
it will maintain 25 steady if i keep my foot in it. was at 30 before i swapped the n75 valve.
vanes are clear
3 bar map
good vacuum
vane actuator opens 5in closes 8in
good line to actuator from n75
vent hose not blocked off
egr deleted
doubtfully any boost leaks
huge sidemount intercooler from eurojet
had water meth but i removed it
 loss for ideas here.

The motor can take 30psi stock everything the turbo on the other hand not so much if it's a VNT 17/22, 25 psi is fine if it's a vnt15 it will blow up

+1 This is likely
hmm, i am not so sure about this. i was planning on getting a kerma q loader so i can have a few more options for tunes, i mean i already get 70 mpg highway but who doesnt want more... im changing tunes especially because rocketchip doesnt seem eager to help or even discuss my issue with me. kerma is such a great staffed company who wants to help it seems :)

Worth confirming...if he didn't know then your boost calibration is off and that could be the issue right there. :)

You should call me if you have questions. If we already talked you probably have some mechanical issues or mix matched parts that need attention. It's not the tune.

I might very well be wrong, but isnt it supposed to open around 5 IN/Hg and close (Bottom out) around 17IN/Hg. I am pretty sure that your vnt rod is too short, thus making your boost higher per N75 duty cycle.

The real numbers are out there for VNT calibration I just cant remember them off my head.
