Definitive Answer on DPF 'Emission' Warranty?

I've searched vigorously but have yet to find the grail. Does anyone know if a diesel particulate filter (particularly those found on the newer CBEA engines) qualifies for the 8yr/80k federal emissions warranty?

Some have hypothesized that since the DPF is an integrated unit with another catalyst, it qualifies. Others are less sure. I'm just confused.

Anyone? Sources?

They're separate units on our GL320CDI and the CAT is 8yr/80K miles and the DPF is 2yr/24K miles. This as listed in the warranty booklet that came with the car--you didn't get a similar booklet?

I don't yet own a TDI. I'm a prospective buyer plagued with all these hypothetical emissions-related catastrophes.

I'm still weaning myself off of my gasser.
