Shouldn't this be moved to the Central gathering instead?
I have done one at my house before I left for my vacation and I will have one at my house when I get back. I will like to host a GTG but the problem is my yard is small and I have 3 dogs so I don't have a "real" house but a super-size doghouse.
while I can't host a GTG I am open to do timing belts individually.
But a GTG should be planned anyway.

I am in depending on date/availability. Don't need any major work done but would like to check MAF with VAGCOM and some other small things. Would be happy to help anyone that needs to check their intake or clean it if necessary.

I think you will get more interest if you set a date. As for me, I am quite booked for most of the summer doing lots of remodeling and last minute road trips to Wisconsin. I currently have one road trip planned and it is a last minute. I know I will have more last minute road trips.
If you can set the date. I think you will get more confirmation as well as allowing people time to order parts they need for TB changes. Then again I may or may not be there. I can't tell you now as we haven't really kicked off any remodeling yet. But if you set it some time end of June or mid July, avoiding the 4th of July weekend, I can try to keep that weekend open if people need my help on TB.
It is possible that there may be more need for a TB change after summer after all those people make their road trips. And not to mention that we are installing 80/100K belts so it makes the need for TB change less than it used to be.

Ok..I am so totally interested in a get together, but unfortunately we live in NORTHERN BC, Canada. However..we will be in Minneapolis area the weekend of May 24 with the car (we're driving there for a holiday). This might be one of our only chances to go to a TDI meet & greet so if one is being planned PLEASE let me know!! We leave town May 16 so if there is going to be one let's decide when (hopefully when we can make it) and then someone can give me directions.

Bookworm - I know that you also offered, so we should communicate and decide - your place or mine.
As for what we are doing at the GTG - I don't need any "service" but if people do, I can make the garage available for use. If anyone wants to get "chipped" at the party - we should start talking about that now.

If we do it on the 24th, the morning would be best for me as the family wants to goto a may 24th bash in St. Paul, a concert in the Park, etc. I may have some gauge hookups to do that I could put off till then in case people wanted to see how and were.

I was planning on going to Hondo's but the landscaping is calling for me. At least I know I have a better chance next year since there should be no more landscaping or any major work after this year. Who wants to help re-shingle the roof?

603 miles is a little farther than I wanted to travel on a weekend... oh, make that 1206 miles.
Yes I know I have a TDI, but??
Let's keep posting here and generate interest in a GTG that those of us that can't make the trip.

There is nothing wrong with having two dates. Make the second one a big one. You can make the memorial weekend one a small one as most of us can't make it and go out to dinner or lunch at a fine restaurant that is only in Twin Cities area so that we can show Canada what we have that they don't.
Don't even think about Krispy Kreme, Tim Horton's is better, way better.

There is no donut place in the Twin Cities that compares to a Tim Horton's, that's for sure. One of the things I miss about Canada, nice little box of donut holes!!
It appears our picnic get together is on the Monday, not the Saturday so I would be more open on the Saturday to get together after all. Should be getting a new amsoil filter between now and then, could put it in then if people are interested in the difference between them and stock?
