sc4 Fuse keeps blowing

Good morning all,

I having issues with the sc4 fuse blowing as soon as the ignition switch is turned on. Last week the blower motor stopped working and i initially troubleshoot that circuit. but, from the fuse to the relays to the motor all were fine. there is no resister pack for this fan and I realized that it is a climatronic fan and started at the beginning again. I found that the 5amp (sc4) fuse was blown. what through me off was the the climate control still had power and was displaying all of the settings.

So, I looking for some help to isolate the different circuits that are on this fuse. (A/C High pressure, ESP button, Backup Light SW, Climatronic control module & heat seat module) unfortunately i do not have a wiring diagram and the odbc2 reader i have only does the basics.

Any guidance would be great.

Thanks,

Dane.

Well I disconnected all the connectors under the Driver seat. Still having the issue with the fuse popping right away (as soon as the key is turned to the on position). I was able to borrow a different scanner, there is a fault code for just about everything. Hopefully it all posts:

So the wiring for the passenger side door is shot, for quite a fee years, over the summer all of the convenience controls on the steering wheel stopped working.

Would any one have a wiring diagram that they could share? any guidance would be appreciative .

Thanks, Dane.

Hi there DanE. TDI,

I was wondering if you found out what the problem was, I have the exact same issue and its driving me nut.
I have do lots of searching on different sites but nothing. I have also been checking different things on the car but to no avail.
Your input would be much appreciated.
Thx

Have you pulled the fan motor to see if it is seized?

Sometimes things fall and jam it too.

Have you changed the cabin filter lately - if clogged, you can blow fuses.

It's a poor design - normally the fan is after the filter - on the 2006, the elements fall directly on the motor and the bearings don't tolerate that after a time.
