I know that consensus is not what this forum is all about. nevertheless i would want help with a decision.
what brand/model of fuel filter to put on my 04 Passat, is there a need for a pre-filter, should i also try to get a heater system around these filters?

hi pendule, i'm in bemdiji, but am sometimes down at my parents just west of the cities. i have installed a stanadyne fm100 5micron fuel filter setup w/mann ~150micron pre-filter. in fact, i have a number of extra pre-filters (if you want one to try for free). i'm going to be down there this thurs/fri and doing some work on the car as well if you want to stop by. i personally think a finer, taller filter w/pre-filter is a good thing. the filters are cheaper than oem and the basic install is cheap. not sure how it would mount in a passat PD, never looked under the hood in one of those. in the mk4, it's easy.
