Finished a rebuild on my motor today and im not having much luck with starting it
Does anyone have some advice on the procedure to follow

I turned the engine over by hand with 2l of oil to prime the oil pump
Cranked it with the starter to pump some oil to the bearings
Topped up the oil
Blead the fuel system and cranked, fuel at each injector
Slightly concerned about pumping lots of fuel into the cylinders with repeated cranking

I dont have access to VAGCOM to check for faults, its possible the injector timing is too advanced or retarded but i followed proper procedure with the timing belt

Looking for advice on where to start looking for troubleshooting

Never too advanced. At least for trying to get it started. IF all the air is out advance it further and try again.

Thanks, ill have another go bleading the injector system then
Which way does the pump sprocket rotate to advance
Iv seen both clockwise and anti-clockwise mentioned, been using the timing belt diy for refrence

Assuming it's the 2000, you don't rotate the sprocket, you loosen the 3 bolts and rotate the shaft clockwise.

The DIY for the ALH engine is wrong on timing.

No, it's right, it just tells you to rotate it the wrong direction.
