Turbo seems to be off line

No codes with VCDS, not in limp mode, just seems that all of a sudden the jetta doesn't have a turbo any more. Been finding the bottom of pedal travel while going up hills, which is new. Also, can't hear the turbo whine kick in. I've read through trouble shooting low power/limp mode on myturbodiesel and was thinking of looking into the zip tie mode as a possible solution, though the symptoms that it fixes doesn't seem to match my situation well. Car has 130k, turbo replaced under warranty at 50k. Cam shaft changed out probably 15k miles ago.

Any ideas on where to start?

Sounds like a dying MAF ...
MAF operates under a frame. It can be marginally acceptable, have a dog of a car and still no CEL.

If you have VCDS check your MAF readings

I ran it into town with VCDS hooked up and the MAF seemed to be keeping up, though I will check it again. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the youtube link Ol' Rattler. That's a good one.
