It looks to me that the days of a sooted intake and sticking nozzle vanes are over. It appears that the exhaust goes through the DPF first and then into the turbo charger/egr line. Can someone confirm this?

I have a '09 JSW TDI with 4300km on it. No problems so far. Not even loose trim, rattles, nothing at all to complain about.:)

The North American specification common-rail engine has two EGR systems. There is a high pressure EGR loop with no EGR cooler which is untreated exhaust, and there is a low pressure EGR loop which takes the EGR from after the DPF and which will therefore have no soot in it.

But, ULSD and better combustion efficiency have taken care of the problem anyway. The PD's don't have the DPF and have the regular high pressure EGR with cooler, and they don't have significant clogging issues.
