Fascinating... I read the whole article and found it very interesting. I am not a "lubricant scientist" like some of you, so I can't really discern the molecular difference between an oil and an ester and what the implications of all that are.

I would not run out the the health food store and start randomly pouring jojoba tinctures in my car---- however I do find this very interesting and would like to hear what the "lubricant scientists" think.

Good find, Ric!

This story reminds me of Dupont's new chemical Polyester Fiber which was patented in 1934 and led to the immediate outlaw of natural hemp fibers in the same year.

I thought Dupont had developed a paper pulp process that led to the demise of hemp. It is a good read Ric.

Jojoba will make our pumps and injectors feel silky smooth and moisturize those rough, dry areas.

Ric,

There was a company making motor oil out of Jojoba oil twenty five years ago. I forget the name of the stuff but this was about the time I first heard of synthetic oil.

I think it's great for sunscreen down in Florida ....
