Help with cr140 egr race pipe install

I have the pipe from fixmyvw. I was following the directions but having a hard time. I took out the 2 bolts that connect the egr pipe to the manifold and it won't budge at all. I have done all the steps before that without issue. I expected it to be hard to get out but not like this. Am I missing something?

There is a third bolt. It is long and goes through the ASV and the EGR. It's behind and pretty hard to get at especially if you have big hands. It took me a while.
