retrofitting automatic headlights?

2013 Jetta TDI (buyback at 109,000miles) 2014 Jetta TDI 59,000miles
The Jetta dash has the hole for the light sensor.
Could you just retrofit a Passat automatic light switch and plug and play?
My Jetta just has fog lights in addition to the regular headlights/DRLs.
I hate having to turn on and off the lights!

I'd like to have a local Guru do this to my car.
Is there a TLDR
version?

I've got 40% tint.
Would an interior sensor have the headlamps on more often?
But then, if it's an automatic switch, who cares.
Perhaps I've answered my own question.

'14 Passat TDI SEL and '13 Beetle TDI
I did the auto headlight retrofit on my bug, the “module” only lasted 7 months. The parking lights would not turn off in daylight, so I had to put the original switch back.
