MFD center screen menu populates; However stops there. .. VCDS #17 Malfunction error
The memory data for a 2006 Jetta TDI's Pkg2 w/Navi instruments clusters MFD central screen "Settings" feature is stored where? Any clues?
Using the VCDS to run a scan and then further test the operation of the cluster's global features, (RPM, Speedo, idiot light warnings, etc) is limited. The data for the MFD "Settings" menu seems elsewhere. Any clue?
#17 Instrumentation (Cluster): 1K0 920 973 D - Having an instrumentation malfunction error when running a VCDS scan. Clear, and error return's in an instant. Cluster operates fine independent of invoking any of the MFD displayed Settings menu items. The MFD Settings menu displays fine, yet will not envoke any of the listed menu items. .. The Can bus gateway module: 1K0 970 530 H - shows no error's
Original vehicle owner - 100% OEM stock, production 8/2006. Original MFD2 Navi w/CD changer and Sirrius XM module. All stock unmolested.
