new exhaust question

i am thinking about making a new exhaust for my 03 jetta with the alh motor everything still stock except for egr delete. what size pipe do u guys think i should use? i will be upgrade the nozzles and tuner this summer but was going to make the exhaust so what do u guys think?

I had my muffler cut and 2.25 and a 2.25 tip welded. You can use the same size for the cat area too. If you are planning on keeping most of it stock.
If you are going all brand new 2.5 would probably be good. Maybe 3 if you are planning a turbo upgrade
