Does deleting the EGR on BEW effect cold weather operation?
My new EGR pipe for my new Garrett GT1749 does not fit well. I have a small leak that is whistling. Drivers side flange was off by 1/2 bolt hole, was a wrestling match even with the cooler bolts loose. Now I am thinking about a delete kit. Cleaned up the intake, was dirty but not as bad as a number of photos that are posted.
My concern is engine heat in the winter, a few people say to leave it due to egr helping it warm up. Have 2 BHWs with a delete kit, no heating issues on them. It does get below zero here. You can watch the temp gauge go down while idling when below zero. But heats right back up while driving. Being a manual, it uses so little fuel at idle.
