I have a 2000 NB TDI, automatic, with about 26K miles on it. Just recently it has started to act abnormal during idle. While in any gear selection the engine will slightly start surging. It is more noticable in drive or reverse. The tach only shows a small blip when this happens. When this starts happening in drive or reverse it almost sounds like the engine is growling.
The car runs perfectly in every other matter. Any insight into what could be causing this would be appreciated.
