I figured I'd post up about towing a trailer that I'm considering purchasing from Blizzard Mfg. to either Pittsburgh or possibly Northern Indiana, where we'd meet up.

The trailer is the model 569, for 5x9 floor bottom and a 28" v-nose. The trailer is 5'6" tall on the inside to help with aerodynamics. The trailer empty weighs 790 lbs

They are located in Boonville, NY and if someone was willing to tow the trailer to Pittsburgh and from there a friend who grew up in Pittsburgh would tow it back the rest of the way. If my friend isn't able to meet you in Pittsburgh, I'd meet you in Northern Indiana, so you don't have to worry about going through Chicago.

This probably won't happen for another few months, but I figure it never hurt to ask. I'd be willing to cover your fuel and throw some cash on top.

I'd run out there myself, but a diving accident broke my C4 vertebrae and I'm now wheelchair bound, but that doesn't stop me from still wanting to modify my Jetta and my latest project the RTDI as my track toy.

The reason I need an enclosed trailer is that I use my Jetta a tow vehicle for my wheelchair, event tent, cooler, tools, track wheels, etc. I need to keep most of that out of the elements(especially my electric wheelchair;) )

Here is a link to my RTDI project and one to my Caring Bridge post about my accident.

So if anyone is willing to help me out, that would be great.:D

Just send me a pm and we can further discuss the details if you're interested.

Do you need to have an electric brake connector on car in order to tow this trailer? Does it have a 4 wire plug or the round one,or are you looking for someone w/ pickup to tow this for you?

I was thinking someone with a TDI could tow the the trailer pretty easy, since it's 790 lbs.

I sent an email on the plug type.

I think I've actually got it covered on getting the trailer close to Pittsburgh. I was email with Blizzard and they sponsor a Snow Show in Monrosville, PA October 17th and 18th and with me not being in a huge hurry to get the trailer, they are going to use it in the show as a display model and then at the end of the show on Sunday my friend who grew up in the Pittsburgh area is going to pick it up from the show and tow it back to Sturgeon Bay for me.

So it all worked out in the end. Thanks for responding though.

Here is a picture of my Jetta towing my parents 5x12 enclosed trailer. It also helps it's only 5' tall on the inside, so it helps with aerodynamics. The trailer Blizzard is making for me is 5x9 and 5' 6" tall on the inside, so I can wheel right in the trailer to stay out of the sun and inclement weather if need be.

Here is an example of the trailer I'll be getting exempt mine will be Indigo Blue, like in the picture further down.

The super nice single cam style closure.

Nicely finished on the inside and I'm having them add an Aluminum flap that'll fill in the gap between the ramp door and floor of the trailer, so I can roll right in.

The color I'm going with, that looks to be a very close match to my Galactic Blue.

I can't wait till I get it.
