Question...I turned my vehicle in on 1/24 and the loan balance was paid on the 30th. Today, I received the title to my Volkswagen. Not sure why it came to me and what to do with it now. This happen to anyone else?

If you did the buyback - it needs to goto VW. Go talk to the buyback specialist.

Set up an online portal requiring VW to submit to you several unrelated documents, then require additional information to submit, then tell them to submit again because the margins are incorrect. Have them sign a document and get it notarized by 3 notaries in 3 separate counties with stamps and embossed seals. Make them sign up for an appointment with you at least 3 months in advance and bring the car with them. Take less than 2 minutes to turn over the title for all their effort.

same happened to me. VW paid off the loan and my bank mailed me the title. i talked to buyback specialist she didn't have any info but wanted me to mail her the title. i'll probably take my 2nd key that i didn't hand over and pick up my car from the TDI graveyard lot.... kidding!

Still have insurance on it? Report it as stolen and turn it into your insurance. They'll probably never find it since turned-in TDI's will probably disappear into a Raiders of the Lost Ark type warehouse, never to be seen again. j/k of course, but it would be fun to report as stolen and then give the police the last known location as the VW dealership where you turned it in.

Same thing just happened to me the other day. Debating on just ignoring the fact that I have the title, or trying to call the claims number and waiting on hold for ages.
