I started getting a noise the other day and I think I've narrowed it down to the injection pump. The car drives and starts normally. I recorded a video of the noise. The car has 291,000km on it right now. Sign my pump is going?

Just an update... I checked the accessories and the tensioner and all were okay, along with all the timing belt rollers and tensioner. It was in fact the injection pump that was the culprit.

If the noise is coming from the pump, it's worn internals.
Have it rebuilt by a pro or purchase a new unit.

If you turn the IP by hand using the centre bolt, it should turn smoothly, also when the rollers go over the camplate's cams (just more difficult to turn). Maybe good idea to turn it clockwise, else if it is seized or partially seized, you may loosen the bolt (no issue actually as the pulley is too tight to slip)). I recently rebuilt an IP pump that had some roughness when turning. Replacing the vane pump solved it, though I can still not really explain why it was felt rough, except if one or more vanes were stuck.
