For the HPFP, glowplug started flashing, then I turned off the car, went to the store and then drove off the to the street and that's when it gave out. I blame it on the HPFP design, I paid out of pocket around $2,000 for the HPFP and new injectors. I had the dealer flush my lines and tank. I talked to the manager about the HPFP and said they came out with a new design that will not fail. I have a year of warranty with them so, so far so good. 3k miles after the HPFP and injectors up to this day and no issues, THANK GOD! lol
I take it you were over 120K miles when this happened?? Is that why you had to pay any money? I haven't had problems with mine YET, but was told the HPFP is now warranted to 120. I assume they gave you a price break because your car was over 120?

Not defending VW but keeping things in perspective is useful.

VW emissions cheat 2015 500k vehicles
VW emissions cheat 1973 25k vehicles
GM emissions cheat 1995 470k Cadillacs
Honda emissions cheat 1998 1.6 million vehicles
Ford emissions cheat 1998 60k Econolines
Strange isn't it that the GM, Honda and Ford cheat issues were never "sensationalized" like the VW cheat. Why is that? I never heard of them hitting the news.

I remember seeing a story about how most big auto-makers would say "we're so sorry", "we just don't know how that could have happened". "we didn't mean to do it"
VW says, yea we did it, you caught us.
Of course they all then disappear their CEO and install a clone.

idparts (a FORUM SPONSOR) has this same package for $200, all top-end components. They are also offering a $50 store credit for anyone spending the $500 VW cash card there, making it worth $550. Nice deal, and the $550 in store credit never expires, unlike the VW Visa, which expires in a year.

The $500 Visa cash card I have other plans for (building some furniture), I was going to use the $500 VW card for the 40k service parts. idparts will accept the $500 VW card?

idParts is a wonderful vendor but I believe the $500.00 Gift card has to go to an actual Dealership. 1stvwparts.com is Auburn Volkswagen which is just down the road from you and Zeb is an amazing guy about working out deals

It's all laid out on their web site. Idparts will accept the $500 VW CASH card; they cannot accept the $500 VW DEALER card, because that can only be spent at a....well, you know.

So If I understand this correctly, taking the $500 VGC does not waive your right to the class action lawsuits , should one participate in them.....is that correct?

I agree with your points but if it was a simple software fix I think they would have offered that up already instead of gift cards. As more time goes by the more upset people are getting. Just look at the posts here, the frustration is spilling over to every discussion.
I disagree, They are two different issues. The GOODWILL PACKAGE is just that goodwill getting ahead of people, possibly heading off people joining those class actions which will only enrich the law firms. The fix is the fix as required by EPA....

I submitted mine the first day of sign up November 9th, and my number is 16,xxx. I haven't received mine yet. I'm guessing they will be out in early December. A few members signed up in the last few days and received their confirmation email saying two weeks. My email said 4 weeks when I signed up two weeks ago. So logically we can assume that we should start receiving them around December 7th.

I'm 16,215 and also nothing. I hope it comes soon- I have my 40k service due in early December. I put close to 1,000 miles on a week due to work. The service is quoted around $600 I believe.

$1000 for your ODO readings is a hell of a sale if thats what you want to think, but why are you complaining about it? Anyone who wants to read my odometer for $1000 is welcome to it.
Heck, I'll undercut that by a factor of 50! Twenty bucks from anyone who wants my odometer reading, first come first served! Just let me know how many want in and I can set up a paypal account or something for quicker processing.

If this is true, that number on your "registration" may not be related to your "place in line". There are people here who signed up on the 9th with numbers considerably higher than yours. I signed up in the morning of Nov. 9 and I am pretty close to your numbers (I don't remember the exact number).

Have Fun!

Don
