Do you guys change out your transmission oil? I'm getting close to 50k miles on my GSW so I was looking into getting it changed. I learned that VW says it's a lifetime oil? What do you all do?

Where do you see that VW says it's a "lifetime" oil? Pretty sure it is a part of the 50K mile service. DSGs are done at 40K mile intervals.

I changed my 6mt oil at 100k miles and it looked really good. 100-150k miles is what I'd recommend for a change interval.

Some swear that all fluids in the car need to be changed out at 100 miles and again at 1000 miles to remove initial wear metals.

So it's really up to what you want to pay have done.

I had no issues running 140K miles on my 6spd jetta. If I felt it needed it I would have changed at 100K, but engagement and feel was still the same, so i just motored on.

I was just surprised VW doesn't recommend changing it. I think it's fine but I don't know any better. I was not changed after 100 or 1000 miles so I may just do it when I get 50k miles.

50k is way too early, imo. Maybe if all 50k were towing a dual axle trailer. My mtf looked like new at 100k miles.

There are just too many to list....
You can check it at 100k miles, but you will likely find it still is fine. Just make sure it does not run low. Small wet seeps over time (common) can add up.

changed the fluid on my 11 Golf 6spd man at about 120K when I did the T-belt. It was a waste, it looked and smelled new.
