just as a side note these cars are VERY tire pressure sensitive. I recently adjusted the air pressure with an analog guage to 34 psi and started getting poorer [40-42] mpg put the dc air pump on them and read 32psi on each [at least they were all the same] this pump has a dial gauge with 3 hash marks between [2.5, 5, 7.5?] 10 psi numbers. pumped them all to the 7.5 hash mark and mpg went back to 46 range maybe higher todays meter average is 51.4 won't recalculate until refill in jersey tomorrow

This was my last tank, with 46.4 mpg on the computer, and a shade over 45 mpg hand calc. I'd say these CR TDIs can do just fine if you don't drive like your hair is on fire.

It's not unusual to cross the 600 mile mark before the low fuel warning light comes on.

Tuesday I took at trip to western MA. Speeds betwen 60-80, A/C on, no efforts to get good FE. And tires are at 36/34.

I usually get 1.5 or so less than the MFI says. Doesn't look like lousy mileage to me.
