Is NY going TDI crazy also

Hi all,
Did anyone hear if VW was going to lift the ban on selling TDI's in NY like they are suppose to do in California in January 2001?
My fingers are crossed.

Hi from CA (put my deposit down last night),

As of yesterday, VWoA (always the last to know) said the ban was still in effect for CA and NY. Most CA dealers don't know about the lift yet either (with a couple of exceptions). If you're interested, I'd get in touch with a decent NY VW dealer and if they don't know about it ask them to ask their area rep. I can see no reason offhand why the ban would be temporarily lifted in CA and not in NY, but with a huge company, you can never count on logic or common sense.

Try calling a few dealers in CA and NY and try to place an order. Tell them that you've heard that the ban is going to be listed as of 01-1-2001 and you want to be first to buy a TDI from them... That should initiate a call to their counterparts in corporate and get to the heart of the matter pretty quickly!
