Anybody know when the first fuel filter change is in the maintenance schedule?

Just curious. My manual is in my car 100 mile away.

Thanks

The first one due is @ 20,000 miles per VW oem technical data.

Thanks. My fuel filter was never changed on my 20,000 service. I had a hpfp fail 2 and a half weeks ago.
For sure that is a HUGE bummer. Did VW cover the HPFP under warranty?

The fuel filter, in comparison is a tiny issue. However it should be ALSO be covered, aka no charge, under the maintenance gig that you paid for up front (first three 10,000 miles cycles, ie 10,000 miles, 20,000 miles, 30,000 miles). I wish you all the best with the new HPFP system

A dealer did do the service. Not the dealer where my car is now. I have the service history from vw and the fuel filter is not listed a part used on the 20,000 mile maintenance.

Oh and the oil used on the 30,000 mile service is a different part # than the 10 and 20 services.

I really getting annoyed.

Yes, I would pitch a fit (in a nice way).

1. I would definately make sure the fuel filter IS changed, as fuel filter change IS listed BY VW as part of the 20,000 miles interval.

2. make sure the oil IS VW 507.00. VW dealers market Castrol 5w30 LL03, aka GOLD bottles, VW 507.00. However, I have read from several sources oem fill is VW 507.00, but TOTAL INEO 5w30.

I noticed that the factory put a blob of paint or something on one of the screws that holds the lid on the fuel filter. Is this there to expose any sort of non-Dealer "tampering" with the filter?

Who knows, but opening your own fuel filter is not 'tampering'. Nothing in the warranty says you can't inspect/maintain/repair your own car.

Old thread but...Chadmag...did you get resolution with dealer? Mine also did not list Fuel Filter in the covered 20k service they did....

Anyone else have ideas?
Thanks
