Spare tire size

Bought a 2015 Passat from a used car dealer. These numb nuts put a 15" Spare in the back. 195/65/15 Besides the tire size being wrong I'm pretty sure it wouldn't clear the calipers in the front.

Does the Passat normally come with a donut or a full size spare?

Does the placard show the spare tire size? Some do.

Edit: I do not have an NMS Passat here at the shop today, but the two newest dubs I have, a 2009 NB and a 2007 Rabbit, both have the spare tire size on the placard under the standard tire sizes, I suspect your car does too. Pretty standard fare.

My 2015 needs at least a 16” spare, and it doesn’t have much wiggle room.

215-60-16 is the proper size and a 16" is needed to clear the calipers.

Sadly the NMS comes with a compact spare our '12 and '15 did, so sounds like someone poached that one and the dealer was trying to make you whole.

See if the dealer can make the situation right, if not, hit up your local tire shop and see what they can do. For our Alltrack (that also comes with a compact spare) I had an old Bioline rim that I had the local shop toss on a used tire and balance it, cost me $40.

Might be better off keep the P7 Pirrelli for my Jetta and find a donut.

Yup 2015 comes with a donut ( temporary ) spare good for only a short distance and limited speed..
Go back to where you bought it and let them give you the proper one !

Stock size for a jetta is only 205-55-16, much smaller, don't use that for a spare for the Passat, get a used cheap proper sized tire.

Mine came with a donut, but a full size spare (215/55R17 in my case) fits fine in the spare tire well.
