Trunk opens when I unlock the door

I have an 02 Jetta tdi alh engine. When I unlock the doors using the unlock button on the driver door the trunk pops open. I’ve already replaced the latch and repaired the broken wires. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be.

You repaired wires in the accordion if the front door, and within the door?
Seems like it's a couple wires touching inside the door accordion or the body side.

I have not looked at the wires running from the door to the body I will check that tomorrow.

Often it's the wires in the accordion to the body as they continuously bend back and forth rubbing against each other. Eventually they wear through and the conductors make contact forcing one to act with the other.

My question is do the doors unlock when you pull the trunk release switch?.?.

So I pulled the door harness and everything looked fine. I pulled the factory tape off and checked every wire. The trunk switch does not work now.

Did the trunk switch work properly before other than the lock switch activating it?
I assume the trunk still works by fob.

I don’t have a key fob for the car and It worked a couple months ago then stopped and about a month later the unlock button started opening it
