Hi

Got this T5 in from another auto workshop that have given up on it.

spec:
year 2006
Engine : 1.9 Tdi AXB
Manuel gear
ECU 038 906 016N

Faults:

i makes no boost , the Turbo wacc aktuator is not being aktivatet

Fault codes:

at first

P0238 turbo boost to high
P0113 indtake air temp to high

Air indtake temp = 137G
Water temp = -7G
Fuel temp = 39G
Boost needs to be = 163,2 mBar
Boost it is = 2193,0 mBar ( it thinks it is but it is not)

now

P0237 turbo boost to low.

First i fixed the temp faults ,
the plus for water temp was on the fuel temp sensor . an the fuel temp plus on the water temp.

next i looket at Air temp , the wires from map sensor pin 1 ( Ground) was broken an pin 2 air temp signal
was not good. new wires og pins in Map sensor plug an Ecu plug

an the air indtake temp was fixed .

Now the fault code have change to P0237 ( boost to low )
it still thinks the boost is 2193 mBar with the engine off

went to check pin 2 an 3 in the map sensor
there i not 5 Volts in pin 3 . it goes to pin 62 in ecu an there i not 5 volts there also
Pin 4 i am not sure what to read there ?

i change the wires on pins in plugs , in Map sensor plug an Ecu plus

but stil no change to the problem.

if i run a turbo test with Vcds , the turbo an N75 works perfekt , but ecu can not see the boost in
the map sensor.

the Error code does not go away pops right up again every time i put KO

so i think the ecu is bad , godt an other from a auto braker
clone the to ecu no problems, but still no boost
an still it thinks i makes 2192 mBar KOEO

this have been change to new parts from the last workshop
Maf
N75
Map sensor
Water sensor
Fuel sensor.

i don´t know what my next move is now ?

i have also chek
fuses
12Volts live feeds to the ecu
ground feeds to ecu

no faults
sorry for my bad english i am from Denmark

What map sensor did you find in it? I'm wondering if they stuck a 2.5 bar in on a tuned car that needs a 3 bar.

So the map sensors voltage increases when the boost increases. If you have a short to signal wire it could cause this.

Basically the supply voltage is 5VDC and without boost shouldn't go over 1VDC, likely less, without boost. Should not go over 4.5 at Max boost.
What you're getting is near full voltage to the ECM as 19+14.5*69=2242.5
19 = Max stock boost, 14.5 = atmospheric pressure, and 69 = mBar to psi.

All this says there's a short to the signal wire, or a faulty map.
