New Jetta Wagon

I just read in the VWVortex that VW is offering a Jetta wagon for 2001. The sad news is that there are no plans to offer it with the TDI engine, either in 2001 or 2002. What is wrong with these people?

That VWoA offers the TDI in the Beetle, Jetta, and the Golf (both GL and GLS!) is surprising to me. It is a rather low volume engine (in terms of sales numbers over here), so why would they offer it in so many flavors? I'm thankful for this, and while a Jetta Variant TDI would be nice, I think that might be pushing it..

The people who have something wrong with them are the U.S. folks who don't want the TDI! Hmm.. Anyone want to produce a late-night TDI televangelism show?

holaluha, say it with me brothers, praise be the TDI, free from sin and all that is bad. we shall f0llow TDI's in to the depths of....ummm....Fred's TDI forums and save our selves from....um....the accord.

How 'bout 1 Passat TDI Wagon with a 3.3L V-8 TDI with twin turbos (like Volvo's S-80 T-6), 6-speed transmission, and 4-Motion? Please!!!!

The Virginia section should be updated to show the Amoco Station on Route 7 / Leesburg Pike in Tyson's Corner. They have Amoco Premier Diesel there.

I agree. The Jetta wagon should be offered in diesel as well as the Euro Van in diesel. C'mon VW!

Oops! Good point. I'll go do that now. In the mean time I'll add that station to the list. Do you have any nearby cross streets (like is it before 495...actually isn't between where 495 and 66 cross 7?)

I guess I'll just have to start looking at every station to find a good grade of Diesel. I'll let you know if I find any (haven't yet).
