My Father had his 2009 CBEA into the Stealership for Warranty work this week and Service Guy slipped and said they used Castrol Edge 5W-40. Immediately I told my Father that there is no 507.00 that comes in a 40 weight. We will attempt to get a verification in case the counter guy was confused. If there is indeed the wrong Castrol should we drain it immediately. I understand these 40W oils are not Low Saps.

Yes, if you have verified it was used but I would assume the dealer would take care of this for you at no charge.

Dealership does it all the time, given the low volume of diesels in the US. Still, not a big deal in the end run in my opinion, unless you really care about your DPF and/or warranty.
