Front wiper problem turns out to be rear wiper connection corrosion, so check yours

this applies to the Mk4 Golf at least..
I had a front wiper coming on without being selected, and the problem apparently was the connection to the rear wiper motor, so I pulled the cover and had a look, and it does corrode, as well, the rubber grommet under the arm, lets water in. so silicone the grommet in, and check the connection and if corroded, there is a plastic cover that comes off the motor, and it will be corroded also.

Do you have pictures. This happened to me two years ago, dealer replaced corroded ground wire #12, but now it's happening again and I need to fix it. Rear wiper only goes on when I first start the car and stops wherever it wants to after about 30 seconds. Thanks, Laney
