YEs, Biodiesel was front page headline news today in the San Francisco Chronicle....

What is laudable is the focus on renewable alternative fuel sources.

What is not as good is the apparent "free pickup", which may cause not only some economic burden on the private recyclers, but also the possibility that they , the private companies, to pass on the costs of pickup to the end user, (us) , in the form of higher prices...

Of course, with no more pickup fees for used oil...restaurants save a wee bit...


But now with so many (companies, city government, and home brewers ),vying for the oil, will it remain free in the future ?

apparently resaturants in Lincoln, NE already get paid for their WVO. i haven't verified that myself, but that's what i was told last night. i do know for sure that in Omaha you pay people to take WVO away, so my local bar is happy to have me take away their oil for free.
