I have 250,000km or about 150k miles. Malone stage 4 tune for last 10k km(with new valve body). Still works good. Coding set 00012.

i am @ 129K miles and am getting progressively worse RPM surge, especially when cold. Just got a nice hard shift going cold uphill this morning too. Everyone loves the "swap it to a 5 speed rhetoric" but for me I cant afford such endeavors any time soon. Id say to someone who was considering purchasing a o1m, have the money put away for not if, but when.

210K, changed fluid at 180K. Fluid looked good when I changed it. Only problem was injection pump.

I'll chime in; 2003 w/ 136,500.

Next fluid and filter change scheduled for 140,000 mi. Should be coming up around the end of April. Not driving as much as I did the past couple of years.

I have just over 242,000 kms on mine, did the first fluid/filter change at 240,000. Have had some slippage between 3rd and 4th which is why I did the service but it's still slipping... :(

Anyone in Alberta have advice on who will do a reasonably priced 5 spd swap? What kind of $ would I be looking at? Thx.

I'm at 183,000 on the original about 15,000 ago started feeling funning so I did a service with new filter and it's starting to slip now but I'm determined to make it to 200,000 before a rebuild were I want it beefed up a bit So I can throw a tune on it

Do NOT expect yours to last this long.

253,000 miles. Never serviced.
Began throwing P0811's at 252K.
Contemplating stick conversion.

My '02 Auto Jetta tranny just spit out all the fluid and came home on the wrecker. It had just rolled over onto 310,000 miles! Guess I can't complain. If any one knows a good source for a replacement I would love the info! PM me please.

Just hit 330,000 miles on my original 01M! Thought that maybe the RC2 tune would kill it, but it's still running okay with an occasional hiccup...

2002 jetta tdi. Had new trans at 99k. Luckily had ext warranty!! so far havent read about too many people here with a crapped out tranny. Overall on threads many people with problems with this tranny. Should be a recall. Also dont understand the manual stating---no need for trans fluid change!!
