hi guys,

My golf doesn't back off straight away after lifting off the throttle, it's most noticeable at higher revs and under hard acceleration. This causes the revs to rise a little when changing gear.

I was advised that it was most probably the clutch hall sensor, but have replaced this and the problem remains.

I have also replaced the throttle pedal assembly, run some turbo cleaner through the air intake and checked vacuum lines for splits and as far as I can tell they are okay.

Anyone got any other suggestions that could be the cause of this problem?

Thanks in advance,

Nick.

On a Diesel, you can severely damage your engine by running a cleaner through the intake. Plus, it will not really clean anything.

maybe the TPS? I had a similar issue with an old toyota pickup and that little stupid tps potentiometer was an easy fix to a horrible problem.
