I still question the NADA value as of Sept 18. I bought my 2015 GSW TDI (S) on Aug 26, 2015. I had only 1500 miles Sept 18. I paid 24500, yet VW says the Clean Trade in is only $19000 less than 30 days later?

I hear ya.

Only to add, if you plan to do the buy back, and you are a low miles driver, you might get up to 3 years of free driving. In my case that is it, FREE driving.

....and shop one than one buy back dealer to get a competitive new car buy -- that is IF you want another vw.

Good luck

They didn't use NADA values for the 2015s, as there were no NADA values as of 9/2015 for model year 2015 cars. They instead used a straight percentage of MSRP (71%, IIRC).

Exact number was MSRP*0.717, but really once you've ignored the 19% average year 1 depreciation number that much, what's 0.7% really.

I know when I was shopping, there was zero movement off MSRP across multiple dealers.

It really will depend on the state you are in, and how the law is written.

(and how far the automobile dealer association is in the pocket of the legislature) (sorry for the political observation.....)
Absolutely correct and that is why buyback value should NOT be calcuilated on NADA trade-in. There is no Trade-in of the vehicle in the buyback scenario.
In Florida, the purchase of a subsequent new vehicle as a seperate transaction is fully taxable according to this snippet from the FL pamphlet that is sent to auto dealers.
Separate Sales Transactions
When there are separate sales transactions, by either the buyer or seller of the motor vehicle, the other vehicle is NOT a trade-in, even if the proceeds of the sale are immediately applied to the purchase of another vehicle.
In this case, the tax is due on the gross sales price and there is no
reduction in the taxable base for a trade-in.

Gad

Tulsa was short on inventory and price consideration.

On my 2015 Golf, I found a little in OKC, Then quiet a greater amount in Missouri.

If it was not for the price I paid up front, the buy back would look a little skimpy

So I went to the vwcourtsettlement website and was able to verify eligibility of our VIN, however I don't see where to register my information. Where are you folks registering?
Thanks
Doug
